The Story
Starfall was a boredom purchase. No, really - we just wanted a project. So, after binging some Hardware Haven videos and digging through some Reddit threads, we settled on a machine that was small, compact, and had good-enough performance.
Starfall initially was specced out with 24GB of RAM. However, the kit of 16GB we had purchased had proven to be faulty, so ultimately that extra RAM was removed. This ended up causing quite a few headaches over time, as it led to constant corruption of disks. We went through several operating systems before realizing the OS wasn't the culprit, the RAM was.
Presently, Starfall hosts several media servers (like Plex and Navidrome), a Nextcloud instance, and some other, smaller services used for media management.
